Dirty Girl Media likes to live in the uncomfortable moments. Our stories live in alternate realities so we can observe familiar experiences with a little distance. We aim to create entertaining stories that leave you with a cathartic release and complicated feelings.
Emily Faris & Mia Fraboni
Filmmaking Besties
Dirty Girl Media was founded by Emily Faris and Mia Fraboni, who have been collaborators since they met at the High School of Performing Arts in New York City. Their shared love of movies and acting brought them together and led them both to pursue degrees (BFAs) in Acting from prestigious universities and to eventually become producing partners. They wrote, produced, and starred in their first project, mother daughter, a semi-autobiographical short film shot on location in Sweden (Official Selection at Boden International Film Festival 2023).
After the global pandemic, they focused their interests on genre filmmaking and developed their next project, DIRTY GIRL, a dark comedy body-horror short film, produced and co-directed as a team. DIRTY GIRL made its International Premiere at the 42nd Torino Film Festival in November 2024, and will have its US premiere at the 24th Garden State Film Festival at the end of March 2026. They are currently in pre-production for their next short film, STILL LOADING.
